Toronto-based violinist/violist Luna Nuna first met Karl Mohr while contributing string parts to the recording of a pop album he was producing. Her interest in contemporary classical, new performance techniques and improvisation led her to join Karl Mohr & the Fallen Angels in 2009. Since then she has become a permanent member of Dead Red Velvet, using digital effects on her rich-sounding handmade acoustic viola.
Luna Nuna has a busy career performing live, recording in the studio, and teaching individual and group lessons, on both violin and viola. With a master's degree in music, and a history which includes running a Suzuki string school, she is the most classically trained member of Dead Red Velvet.
