The Archives - Karl Mohr past incarnations
Karl Mohr & the Fallen Angels was Mohr's live unit featuring Benjamin Mueller-Heaslip (keys, piano, bass) and Ian Revell (guitar). At its apex in 2009, it also included Jeremy Munce (drums), Carol Bell (theremin), Amanda Penner (viola), Anthony Haley (vocals, charcoal), Michael Plourde (video projection).
It's an ongoing mystery, but the following track has been downloaded thousands of times by people in China. Any clues to possible reasons for this exceptional traffic would be very welcome.
Ongoing Development on the Karl Mohr Archives - The Teaser
The archiving, mastering and posting of the immense amount of material in the "Audio-Yo" back-catalog is taking a positively atrocious amount of time. Some of the gems that can be looked forward to:
- "Napoleon's Therapy/Shafts of Light" - probably Mohr's best ambient track of all time.
- Out-takes and remixes from his Four Seasons 2117 project - never before released.
- Acid traxx and basement jack from the early 90s period.
- Live ambient improv with his group Starve (w/ Robin Buckley), P.U.D. (w/ Andrew DaCosta), Lion (Toronto mega-group).
- Electroacoustic and acoustic piano pieces from his university years.
- Unreleased remixes by Releveler, Rachel Thomas Smith, Best Friends With Wolves Club and many more.
- Alternate versions and remixes of CD songs.
- The best (and thankfully not all) of the early dreck leading up the more professional period beginning in 1993.
- Many unreleased songs and tracks.
- Weird and unlikely cover songs and versions.
- Karl Mohr & the Fallen Angels live recordings.
- Material that is delineated as Droid Charge or Blue Visions releases are to be found on those respective sites.
