Last minute Roncy Boys show feat. Dead Red Velvet.
The 10pm headliner, The Roncy Boys features art maven/socialite Christian Aldo on the mic with his merry band of sharks. Old-tyme doo-wop with art-rock intensity, riding the line between sugar-sweet throwback pop and deviant back-room poker jazz, the Roncy Boys make it a priority to impress.
A no-notice surprise gig for Dead Red Velvet will feature Karl Mohr presenting on piano/voice - a deviation from his recent full-power dark electronic shows. In fact, it has been over a year since Mohr has presented in the intimate setting, making this a rare treat. Ian Revell may be present on guitar.

Techstasy and Dead Red Velvet share the stage at the Velvet Underground.
Karl Mohr returns to the Velvet Underground - he has recently performed there as Droid Charge and also as a member of Double Eyelid; this time Mohr brings his Dead Red Velvet unit featuring Revolution on guitar and Eric Reid (Best Friends With Wolves Club) on percussion.
Dead Red Velvet will be opening the stage for Techstasy, a young, industrial powerhouse. DJ Osaze spins a fine selection of EBM/industrial/electronica afterwards, making this a great night for rivetheads, new romantics, darkwavers and goths.

Friendly Rich's weekly residency at the Cameron House features Dead Red Velvet on May 17th.
Music fans with a desire to push boundaries, exercise the mind and dig through the mucus will love Friendly Rich's mad and merry band, the Lollipop People. Rich has shed the orchestral extremities of his original ensemble and stage theatrics, and his new, tighter combo, now with extensive touring experience, is very impressive indeed.
As if a Friendly Rich show at the world-famous Cameron House weren't enough to clinch the deal, Karl Mohr will be stepping out of his Dead Red Velvet closet for the very first time, opening the evening with 30 mysterious minutes of dark engagement. Definitely worth staying up past your bed-time.

Double Eyelid live appearance at Velvet Underground, Toronto.
On August 4th, Ian Revell's band Double Eyelid - self-described as "glam, goth, gutter" - joined Scarlet Fever and Winnipeg-visitors This Hisses on the Velvet Underground stage for a night of brisk, dark musical explorations. Revell's vocalizations and programming were backed by keyboardist Benjamin Mueller-Heaslip and Dead Red Velvet's Karl Mohr on guitar.

Complicated - Avril Lavigne Deluxe from Full Moon Film is available for high quality download.
Fans of Avril Lavigne, black metal and downtempo, if there is such a cross-section, will love this diesel-fueled remake. Mohr has been nursing a number of strange versions of this cover song - the last of which was epic enough for release on the Full Moon Film CD. Since digital rights makes it problematic to release cover songs for sale on the internet, iTunes and the other providers do not feature this song on the digital release of Full Moon Film. The song is now available in high quality, for free download.

Karl Mohr joins Istvan Kantor's Red Armband for an electro-riot jam.
Kantor's electro-riot band was featured at Bread & Circus, in Toronto, on March 19th, 2011, at a "Crazy East-Euro Super-Moon Party" together with Worldly Savages, another local eastern-block folk band catalyzing the Toronto music scene. Red Armband recently filled up its ranks with electro-zombie aficionado Karl Mohr, on synth and guitar.
